Checkout can be slow depending on when you go. They have two self-checkout kiosks, which are nice, but you can't use them if you're doing a full shopping trip. I actually liked their checkout system better when they had everyone funneled into a single line and then would direct you to the next available checkout counter - was actually faster than the current "guess which line is faster" system.

If you drive Boston-to-Burlington, VT, as I periodically do, this is the ideal stopover. 2 hours down, 1.5 to go. Great fresh & prepared foods & they take special pride in the cleanliness of their restrooms. Well, done, Hannaford.
Usually a good selection of fresh fruits & veggies. Prices for apples are consistently low, but other items can be more expensive than other stores in the area.

The aisles are easily negotiable, the racks are never empty, and staff are extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
